Vietnamese players must meet certain conditions.
Vietnam.- The Grand Ho Tram resort in Ba Ria-Vung Tau opened its casino to Vietnamese players from Monday (January 5) after receiving permission from the government in November under a five-year pilot programme. It’s the second casino in Vietnam allowed to accept local players after Corona Resort and Casino in Phu Quoc.
CEO Walt Power said the casino would introduce a responsible gaming framework modelled after best practices from Singapore and Macau. This will include on-site information centres, staff training to identify at-risk behaviours, voluntary self-exclusion options and community education initiatives.
Ho Tram currently operates 90 tables and 400 machines, with the capacity to expand. Analysts expect the resort to reinvest to accelerate development.
Corona Resort and Casino began accepting Vietnamese players under a pilot programme in 2019 and has now been granted permanent permission. Sun Group’s upcoming development in Van Don will also accept local players but will not be fully open until around 2032.
Vietnamese players must be at least 21 years old, have full civil act capacity and demonstrate a stable monthly income of at least VND10m (US$400) or be subject to grade-3 income tax or higher. They must not be subject to written objection from their parents, spouse or siblings.
