Pronet Gaming: Winning with the operator edge

In this opinion piece, Alex Leese, CEO of Pronet Gaming, explains why technology alone is not enough in igaming and how the company’s B2C operator experience gives it a competitive edge in B2B and in its expansion across Asia.

Opinion.- One thing I’ve learned in the igaming industry: technology alone isn’t enough. Platforms can be shiny, fast, and full of features. But if they don’t solve real problems for operators, they don’t move the needle.

That’s where our biggest advantage comes in at Pronet Gaming. Many of us, myself included, started out on the B2C side of the business. We’ve been in operators’ shoes, either running sportsbooks, building casino experiences, or figuring out what really keeps players coming back. Today, that experience shapes the way we lead in B2B.

Why the operator edge matters

When you’ve worked directly with players, you start to think differently. You don’t just ask, “What feature looks good?”; you ask, “What actually helps operators hit their KPIs?”

That’s the lens we use across everything we do. Whether we’re refining our casino platform, building out sportsbook functionality, or enhancing our betting exchange, we’re designing with the operator mindset. It’s not abstract; it’s grounded in the reality we once lived.

The Asia opportunity

This mindset is especially important now, as we expand into Asia. It’s a region full of opportunity but also full of complexity. Every market has its own culture, sports passions, and regulatory nuances.

Rolling out a one-size-fits-all platform just doesn’t work. What does work is applying our B2C know-how to build tailored and localised solutions that still scale globally. Because we’ve been operators ourselves, we can anticipate the pain points and adapt accordingly – from how lobbies are designed to how odds are displayed. That’s the operator edge in action.

Turning experience into game-changing products

The benefits of our B2C background shine through clearly across our products. In a casino, it’s not simply about adding more titles but curating a portfolio that feels fresh and engaging every time a player logs in.

In sportsbooks, our firsthand experience in trading rooms on match day means we understand the critical need for speed and flexibility, enabling operators to react instantly to momentum shifts.

And for BetX Pro, our betting exchange platform, knowing how players think about liquidity allows us to design mechanics that feel transparent and rewarding, while still protecting operator margins. This isn’t just theory – it’s practice built from experience.

Over and beyond our products

The B2C edge is about empathy as much as it is about expertise. We know the late nights, the launch pressures, the constant demand for better player experiences because we’ve been there.

That’s why we don’t see ourselves as just a technology provider. We see ourselves as a partner that’s there from day one, helping operators not just launch but grow. Our success is tied to theirs, and that’s exactly how it should be.

Looking ahead

The future of igaming won’t be won by whoever has the flashiest platform; it’ll be won by the companies that really understand operators, what keeps them up at night, and what drives their growth.

For us at Pronet Gaming, that’s second nature. Bringing B2C roots into B2B leadership has given us a team that knows how to build more than platforms; we know how to build businesses. That’s the operator edge and the reason why we’re so excited to take this philosophy with us as we expand further into Asia.
