The Australian regulator says the sites violated the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.
Australia.- The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has requested that online service providers (ISPs) block eight more unlicensed online gambling sites after investigations found them to be operating in breach of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. The sites are C***spin, Frumzi, Great Win, MyStake, Oh My Spins, RetroBet, The Dog House 2 Slot and Viperwin.
Since the ACMA made its first blocking request in November 2019, 1,564 illegal gambling and affiliate websites have been blocked. Over 225 illegal services have also pulled out of the Australian market since the ACMA started enforcing new illegal online gambling rules in 2017, the regulator says.
Last month, ACMA announced that six licensed wagering providers breached the country’s national self-exclusion rules after concluding investigations into conduct during 2024. It found that Tabcorp, LightningBet, Betfocus, TempleBet, Picklebet and BetChamps did not comply with obligations to prevent access or marketing to players registered with BetStop. The regulator also issued a warning to Betplay operator Winners Bookmaking for failing to close a wagering account in a reasonable timeframe for a customer who registered with the BetStop national self-exclusion register.
