The Australian regulator says the sites violated the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.
Australia.- The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has requested that Australian online service providers (ISPs) block seven more unlicensed online gambling sites for violating the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. The sites are Crown Gold, Maxispin Casino, Rain.gg, Didibet, LuckyBet, Malina Casino, Spins of Glory.
ACMA says, 1,338 illegal gambling and affiliate websites have been blocked and around 220 illegal services have pulled out of the Australian market since the ACMA made its first blocking request in November 2019.
Earlier this month, ACMA issued a series of warning letters for “serious breaches” of Australian gambling law. The warnings were directed to Stellar Ltd, operator of Spinit; Just Entertainment B.V., operator of Lucky Ones7; Digibrite S.R.L., operator of The Pokies; and Hollycorn N.V., operator of Slot Lounge. In September, ACMA issued a request to block five gambling websites. It also ordered Betfair to pay a AU$871,660 (US$567,082) penalty after breaching spam laws in commercial messages sent to VIP customers.
