ACMA said the sites were offering services to Australian users.

Australia.- The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has directed internet service providers to block a new set of six websites found to be operating unlawfully. The latest enforcement action targets Play Jonny, ACO96, TCL99, Waboom77, Wonaco and WooSpin.

The regulator said the sites violate the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 by offering services to Australian users without proper authorisation. The latest order follows a blocking request for 19 gambling sites in April.

According to ACMA, more than 1,700 illegal gambling and affiliate websites have been blocked since the blocking regime began in 2019, while over 230 operators have exited the Australian market since tougher rules were introduced in 2017.
