The former Resorts World Sentosa executive returns to the Greater Bay Area.
Macau.- SJM Resorts has appointed Brian Ho as vice president of sustainability, a newly created role focusing on ESG and environmental strategy. Ho joins from Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), where he served as vice president of sustainability for just over a year.
It’s a return to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area for Ho after four years in Singapore, where he worked first at Deloitte and later at RWS. He will work to advance sustainability initiatives across properties, including the flagship Grand Lisboa Palace.
SJM has received ESG recognition for initiatives such as cooling tower energy recovery and water recycling systems. Ho said he aims to build on those foundations, while applying lessons learnt in Singapore about how large corporations can support small and medium-sized enterprises.
At RWS, Ho had succeeded Loh Su Kim, who has now been appointed as chief strategy and sustainability officer. In her expanded role, Loh will oversee the resort’s strategic direction and sustainability targets, including achieving carbon neutrality by 2030 and reducing waste-to-landfill intensity by around half.
