CreditSights sees moderate 2026 growth but warns that per-visitor gaming revenue may slow.

Macau.- CreditSights, part of the Fitch Group, expects Macau’s casino gross gaming revenue (GGR) to record low- to mid-single-digit growth in full-year 2026. It said average GGR per visitor is likely to face a more challenging growth trajectory.

Analysts Nicholas Chen and David Bussey noted that Macau’s total GGR grew 9.1 per cent year-on-year to MOP247.4bn (US$30.9bn) in 2025 driven by robust demand in the VIP segment. Looking ahead, they expect continued interest from high-value players and an easier year-on-year comparison in the first half of the year.

They point out that arrivals from more affluent Chinese regions have largely recovered to pre-Covid levels, leaving future growth to come from less affluent markets with lower spend per visit. This could temper revenue performance as average spend per tourist may see slower growth if mainland demand trends remain concentrated in cost-sensitive segments.
