Crown Perth boosts support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Crown Perth is holding its annual high tea event.

Australia.- Crown Perth will co-fund a professional counsellor for people living with breast cancer as part of its support for Breast Cancer Care WA. The announcement comes during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, during which the operator raises funds through high tea sales and holds an annual Pink High Tea.

Brian Pereira, Crown Perth CEO, said: “We are immensely proud to help deliver meaningful support through the funding of a professional counsellor who will support women living with breast cancer,” he said and added: “It’s a special time each year when guests visit for a high tea, knowing their contribution is directly supporting breast cancer survivors.” 

Breast Cancer Care WA CEO, Max Clarke, said: “We are immensely grateful to Crown Perth for their continued and generous support, in particular to co-fund a professional counsellor. For more than two decades, Breast Cancer Care WA has been a vital source of support for individuals and families impacted by breast cancer across Western Australia – offering expert nursing care, counselling, and financial assistance, all at no cost.”

The high tea is available from October 17  until November 9. Crown will donate AU$5 for every Pink Gin High Tea purchased to Breast Cancer Care WA. 

Meanwhile, the state of Western Australia is preparing for the rollout of mandatory carded play limiting how long players can gamble on electronic gaming machines (EGMs). All guests playing EGMs at Crown Perth will be required to have a valid card and set time and loss limits from December 1.

The process to upgrade EGMs is underway, with more than half of all machines to be upgraded by the end of this month. The card, which will be linked to each player’s account, will cap play at 12 hours a day and 28 hours a week, and include mandatory breaks every three hours. Players will be able to adjust their limits within these caps but any increase to limits will take effect only after a seven-day cooling-off period. Requests to decrease loss limits will be applied immediately.
