A notable highlight from the report is the significant contribution of the online casino segment, which accounted for 45.28% of the total Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR), reaching DKK 3.077bn. Betting and Gaming Machines: A Mixed Bag

The betting sector experienced a 5.91% dip, generating DKK 2.180bn in revenue, while gaming machines saw a slight uptick of 1.79%, amounting to DKK 1.176bn. Land-based casinos also reported growth, with revenue rising by 3.63% to DKK 362m, indicating a diverse performance across gambling verticals.

The report also sheds light on Denmark’s dedication to fostering a safe gambling environment. By the end of December 2023, 46,152 individuals were enrolled in the ROFUS self-exclusion system, showcasing the community’s engagement with responsible gambling tools.

Furthermore, the gambling helpline StopSpillet fielded 523 conversations throughout the year, predominantly from players and their relatives, emphasizing the importance of support services in mitigating problem gambling.
