Macau.- The satellite casino promoter Emperor Entertainment Hotel has reported a 17.7 per cent year-on-year decline in its earnings for the third quarter. Revenue was HKD335.6m (US$43.15m), a decrease of HKD72.3m from HKD407.9m (US$52.44m) in the same quarter last year.
In its filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on Wednesday, November 26, the company said gaming revenue fell by 29.64 per cent to HKD177.9m (US$22.87m). On October 30, it closed the satellite casino it operated under SJM’s licence, joining the list of operators that have closed satellite casino operations ahead of the government-mandated December 31 deadline.
In the six months to September 30, the company’s adjusted EBITDA amounted to HKD45.2m (US$5.8m), down from HKD99.56m (US$12.8m). However, the group’s loss fell from HKD225.7m (US$29.02m) to HKD73.1m (US$9.4m).
