Malaysia.- Genting Malaysia is expected to report a return to profit in the first quarter of 2026. Affin Hwang Investment Bank a net profit between MYR100m (US$25m) and MYR200m (US$50m) thanks to higher gaming activity during the Lunar New Year holiday season.
The investment bank projected that Genting Malaysia’s full-year earnings could increase by around 8 per cent year-on-year in 2026, although profits are expected to remain below pre-pandemic levels. Analysts noted that performance continues to depend heavily on Malaysian operations, which account for around 80 per cent of the group’s EBITDA. Resorts World Genting has maintained strong visitation levels in recent quarters, with visitor numbers reportedly above pre-pandemic trends.
