Grand Korea Leisure aims to integrate AI into casino operations and customer services.
South Korea.- Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) has announced the creation of an Artificial Intelligence Innovation Group, aligning the company with the national government’s policy drive for “AI transformation.” GKL held a meeting on Wednesday (September 24), attended by company chief executive Yoon Doo-hyun.
GKL has introduced a new corporate vision titled “Next GKL: The future of casinos leaping forward with AI innovation.” There are three main goals for advancing casino operations through AI innovation: improving customer experience, modernising organisational operations, and leading the digital transformation across the wider industry.
The new team will be tasked with developing personalised casino experiences and digitising tourism services, integrating AI with enterprise resource planning systems to create predictive business models, and driving public-private cooperation, GKL said.

The move reflects GKL’s recent push to integrate new technologies into its operations. In April, GKL signed a deal with robotics firm Robotis to introduce self-driving robots that use artificial intelligence (AI) at its Seven Luck casinos. The casino operator intends to use robots to transport gaming chips and cards around the casinos. A six-month pilot programme was carried out from September to March at the Seven Luck Casino in Seoul Dragon City.
GKL operates three foreigner-only casinos under the Seven Luck brand. Two are situated in the capital, Seoul, including one in Gangnam, and the other in the southeastern port city of Busan. The company operates as a subsidiary of the Korea Tourism Organization, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.
