Grand Korea Leisure earned the highest score in the Korea Financial Intelligence Unit’s annual anti-money laundering assessment.
South Korea.- Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) has been named the best-performing casino operator in the Korea Financial Intelligence Unit’s (FIU) latest anti-money laundering (AML) evaluation. It achieved the highest score of the 14 casinos in the country.
The FIU’s industry-specific review of AML system implementation is part of the regulator’s dual annual assessments that cover all institutions subject to AML obligations as well as sector-focused reviews. The evaluation examined operational risk management and inherent risk exposure based on data from July of last year through June of the current year.
According to the FIU, GKL delivered strong results across core areas, including customer due diligence, management of suspicious transaction reports and continuous improvements in staff training. GKL said the rating reflects its ongoing efforts to enhance transparency and maintain a robust financial transaction environment.
President Yoon Du-hyun said the company will continue to invest in the area as it aims to remain a model for responsible financial conduct within South Korea’s casino sector.
