GKL has posted casino sales of KRW28.56bn (US$20.4m).
South Korea.- Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) has shared its financial results for the month of October. Casino sales were down 17.9 per cent in month-on-month terms, from KRW34.78bn (US$26m) to KRW28.56bn (US$20.4m). Compared to the previous year, casino sales were down 6.5 per cent.
Table-game revenue was KRW25.15bn (US$20.2m), down 19.8 per cent sequentially and 9.5 per cent behind October 2024. Machine game sales were flat sequentially at KRW3.41bn, but 24.8 per cent higher year-on-year.
For the first ten months of the year, Grand Korea Leisure has reported casino sales of KRW347.28bn (US$247.8m), up 9.2 per cent compared to the January-October period of 2024. Table games accounted for KRW314.42bn (US$224.4m), an 8.7 per cent year-on-year increase, while machine games brought in KRW32.83bn (US$23.4m), up 14.9 per cent.
GKL operates three foreigner-only casinos under the Seven Luck brand. Two are situated in the capital, Seoul, including one in Gangnam, and the other is in the southeastern port city of Busan. The company operates as a subsidiary of the Korea Tourism Organization, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
