The new initiative is intended to offer more transparency.
Australia.- Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) has announced the introduction of televised box draws for all race meetings across New South Wales. The initiative, set to launch on April 13, follows feedback from industry participants and stakeholders seeking greater visibility into the box draw process.
While GRNSW said it has never had concerns regarding the integrity of box draws, it said the new measure adds an additional layer of transparency. Box draws will continue to be conducted through the Ozchase platform. Initially, recordings will be uploaded to a dedicated Facebook page, allowing participants and the wider public to view each draw.
GRNSW said the long-term objective is to broadcast box draws live. Facebook business page requirements mandate that pages must first exist for at least 60 days and reach a minimum of 100 follower. These requirements are expected to be met by May 25, allowing live broadcasts.
The organisation has already launched a Facebook page GRNSW Box Draws, which will host recorded footage from April 13 until live streaming becomes available. GRNSW said the platform may be used for additional industry notifications in the future.
