At least 128 people have died in Hong Kong’s most deadly blaze in 80 years.
Hong Kong.- The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) has announced a first tranche donation of HK$100m (US$12.8m) to support victims and families of those who died in Wednesday’s deadly fire at the high-rise residential complex Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po. At least 128 people died in the blaze, while 200 remain missing.
The HKJC has postponed the Mark Six Draw scheduled for November 29 to December 2. The race meeting scheduled to take place on Sunday will be held behind closed doors with no sponsors. There will be a minute of silence, and all gross income, estimated at around HK$70m (US$9m), will be donated to support those affected by the fire in consultation with the Government.
Off-course Betting Branches will provide essential customer services only. Customers with table or seating reservations will be refunded.
