The International Esports Federation (IESF) is proud to announce the return of the World Esports Referee Academy, taking place November 5–7, 2025, in Busan, Korea.
The Academy is designed to equip referees with the knowledge, tools, and international network needed to succeed at the highest level of Esports competition. Referees are central to every match, ensuring fair play and upholding the integrity of the game. This year’s Academy will go beyond the basics, offering advanced training and hands-on experience guided by industry experts.
Program Highlights:
- IESF Referee Certificate: Participants who complete the program and final exam will receive an official certificate, opening the door to opportunities with IESF’s Competitions Team and the pathway to an official IESF Referee License.
- Specialized Training: Workshops will cover Esports rules, conflict resolution, and real-world scenarios that reflect the pressures of live tournaments.
- Global Mentorship & Networking: Attendees will learn directly from veteran referees while building connections with peers from around the world.

- When: November 5–7, 2025 (Arrival: Nov 4, Departure: Nov 8)
- Where: Busan, Korea
- Format: Training sessions, interactive workshops, and a final exam including debates and scenario analysis
Eligibility
Applicants must either hold a referee license from their national federation/association or provide a recommendation letter. Completion of the online referee course (referee.iesf.org) is required prior to attending.
Support for Participants
Accommodation, meals, and local transport in Busan will be covered by IESF. Visa support documents will be provided, while participants are responsible for their flights and visa application fees.
