The International Esports Federation is pleased to announce the appointment of Nurassyl Medeu as Development Director, following a formal decision by the IESF Board.
In his new role, Mr. Medeu will focus on advancing IESF’s global development agenda, with a particular emphasis on event acquisition, host city engagement, strategic partnerships, and long-term ecosystem growth. His mandate includes supporting the expansion of IESF championships and initiatives by working closely with national federations, host cities, institutional partners, and private-sector stakeholders.
Mr. Medeu brings a strong interdisciplinary background spanning technology, sports development, and entrepreneurship. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Boston University, with academic focus areas including artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, and software engineering.
“We are delighted to welcome Nurassyl to the IESF Family,” said Vlad Marinescu, President of the International Esports Federation. “His youthful energy, dedication and experiences will contribute to the development of World Esports.”
Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Medeu said: “Esports United sports, technology, and computer science worldwide, it’s a pleasure to join the IESF and dedicate energy and passion to promoting these elements globally.”
Alongside his academic background, he is an active investor and founder, with experience across IT, software development, sports, and tourism. He is the Founder of initiatives supporting high-performance sports development in Kazakhstan, and is involved in technology ventures focused on event platforms, AI sports analytics, and digital business solutions . He also serves as an Advisor to the CEO of BTS Digital, contributing international perspective and strategic insight.
IESF leadership noted that strengthening development capacity is a key priority for the Federation as it continues to expand its global footprint and deliver high-quality international events.
Mr. Medeu’s appointment reflects IESF’s continued commitment to professional governance, innovation, and sustainable growth, as the Federation works with its members and partners to further unite and elevate esports worldwide.
