The Philippines.- Data from cybersecurity and analytics firms Gogolook and Whoscall suggests that illegal online gambling in The Philippines dropped by 93 per cent from the second quarter to the third quarter of 2025.
During an interview with PTV, Aboy Paraiso, acting executive director at the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC), said: “Foreigners are now hesitant to invest in illegal online gambling because of the strict regulations in the country.” He attributed the drop to the combined actions of multiple stakeholders, including legislators and regulators.
Paraiso praised the efforts of Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) general manager Mel Robles, the Philippine National Police-Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG), the National Bureau of Investigation, and the Presidential Anti-Organised Crime Commission (PAOCC).
He said, Gogolook is receiving fewer calls and reports on illegal gambling. “Hopefully, we can maintain the momentum,” he added.
The Philippine News Agency reported that as part of its broader anti-cybercrime strategy, CICC has signed an agreement with Camp John Hay to build a training centre for digital forensics in Baguio City. The training centre aims to create modules on digital forensics and train new analysts on analysing digital artefacts.
