India’s financial crime authority is investigating alleged algorithm manipulation and crypto-based laundering.
India.- The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted 11 coordinated raids at premises connected to WinZO and Gamezkraft in Bengaluru, Delhi and Gurugram. The searches included corporate offices and the homes of senior executives.
The action follows multiple complaints to police by users who allege that the companies manipulated their game algorithms to disadvantage players. The ED said it is also investigating crypto wallets.
The probe comes after India enacted legislation banning real-money online gaming. Neither WinZO nor Gamezkraft has issued a public comment regarding the raids.
