Indonesia.- National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has said that authorities in Indonesia handled 718 online gambling cases between January and June 2026. Speaking during the 80th Bhayangkara Anniversary event on July 1, he said police arrested 1,164 suspects and seized assets worth INR1.75tn (US$98m) as part of enforcement efforts while the Ministry of Communication and Digital blocked 278,000 pieces of online gambling content
Among the largest investigations was the dismantling of an alleged international online gambling network involving 322 foreign nationals. The police chief said the organisation operated at least 145 online gambling domains. some 291 foreign nationals are named as suspects.
Authorities said the case highlights the growing scale of illegal online gambling operations organised cross-border networks supported by digital infrastructure.
