Esports is built on competition, but it also grows through learning, shared experience, and opportunity. For the fourth year in a row, together with ITTI Sports Institute we are supporting education within the World Esports community.
In 2025, the IESF x ITTI Scholarship Program once again offered four full scholarships to all IESF members, giving talented individuals from different regions the chance to take the next step in their esports journey.
A Competitive and Global Selection
This year’s scholarship call received 34 applications from 25 different nations, showing just how strong the interest in esports education has become. After reviewing all applications, one recipient was selected from each IESF region: Europe, Africa, Asia & Oceania, and the Americas.
Each of the selected candidates will take part in ITTI’s Master’s in Esports Management and Gaming, which begins in March 2026.
The 2025 Scholarship Winners
The four scholarship recipients come from different academic backgrounds and areas of esports, reflecting the many ways people contribute to the industry:
- Aaliyah Munawar [Malaysia]
Aaliyah studies Law Enforcement and has been involved in gaming for many years, with a strong interest in the long-term development of esports. - Asmaa Thabet [Egypt]
Asmaa studied Architecture and is also a professional Mobile Legends: Bang Bang player, competing at a high level while pursuing her academic goals. - Nicky Boncu [Romania]
Necky studied Communication and works as a content creator within the esports industry, focusing on media and community engagement. - Iris Gonzalez [Mexico]
Iris is a Computer Engineer and a professional Dota 2 player, combining technical knowledge with competitive experience.
Learning in Barcelona and Beyond
The program combines online learning with in-person classes in Barcelona, allowing students to experience an international academic environment while staying connected to their own regions. During the program, scholarship recipients will attend classes on campus, meet fellow students from around the world, connect with industry professionals, and take part in the graduation ceremony, which will also be available online.
Learning from the Industry
The Master’s program is taught by professionals working across different parts of the esports and gaming industry, including representatives from G2 Esports, Twitch, Riot Games, Wehype, and Moonton. Their involvement gives students direct insight into how the industry operates beyond competition.
