South Korea.- Kangwon Land has reported 147,550 visitors during the Chuseok holiday period, from October 3 to 12, 2025. It said the accommodation occupancy rate was 81.4 per cent.
Also known as Hangawi, Chuseok is a major mid-autumn harvest festival celebrated in the eighth month of the lunar calendar when the moon is at its fullest. This year, the usual three-day festival was extended into a seven-day break due to National Foundation Day on October 3 and Hangul Day on October 9.
Kangwon Land is the only casino in the country open to locals. The operator has announced that it is preparing to open its ski resort in late November as a major attraction for visitors during the winter season. A new building with a second casino is under development at Kangwon Land, with an expected opening in early 2028.
