Las Vegas Sands selects Woh Hup for $8bn Marina Bay Sands expansion

The project is scheduled for completion in 2030.

Singapore.- Las Vegas Sands Corp (LVS) has selected Woh Hup (Pte) Ltd to lead the construction of its US$8bn expansion Marina Bay Sands. LVS said it chose Woh Hup over other companies due to the firm’s “strong technical capabilities, proven track record in complex projects, and depth in engineering and design management.”

In the Marina Bay district, Woh Hup has previously worked on projects such as Marina Bay Residences and W Residences Marina View. It also worked on Jewel Changi Airport and Gardens by the Bay.

Kim Yong, chairman of Woh Hup (Private) Limited, said: “We are privileged to be appointed as the main contractor for Las Vegas Sands’ new ultra-luxury development, a project that will stand as a new symbol of Singapore’s ambition and global stature.”

The project will feature a 55-storey tower with 570 luxury hotel suites, a casino, a 15,000-seat entertainment arena, and 200,000 sq ft of meeting and convention space. It will also include a range of restaurants and a rooftop with 360-degree views of Singapore’s skyline.

The project is scheduled for completion in 2030. Las Vegas Sands said construction has begun, with around 5,000 workers on site around the clock.
