Macau.- The Macau Hotel Association’s latest survey, published by the Macao Government Tourism Office, has reported that the average nightly cost of a five-star hotel room during the first eight months of 2025 was MOP1,517.7 (US$189.3). That’s down 5.5 per cent year-over-year.
The study shows that the average room rate across all of the association’s hotels was MOP1,355.3 (US$169), down 3.8 per cent year-on-year.
In August, the association had 48 hotels as members, including 27 five-star properties. According to the survey, the average five-star average rate was MOP1,615.5 (US$201) in August and MOP1,518.5 (US$189.4) in July. The average occupancy rate was 95.7 per cent in July and in 96.8 per cent in August.
The Statistics and Census Service of Macau (DSEC) has reported that the average occupancy rate of guest rooms of hotels was 92.9 per cent in August, up 1.5 per cent year-on-year. The number of hotel guests was 1,303,000, up 3 per cent.
