The Macau government has renewed Wing Hing Lottery’s Chinese lottery concession until the end of 2026.
Macau.- The Macau government has granted a one-year extension to Wing Hing Lottery Company Limited’s concession to operate the Chinese lottery. That extends the concession to December 31 2026.
Under the revised agreement, Wing Hing will pay a premium of MOP500,000 (US$62,300). The renewed contract also introduces a new clause requiring the operator to prioritise the hiring of local employees. Wing Hing is expected to cooperate with the government on recruitment and employment initiatives, including providing on-the-job training and aligning its practices with Macau’s labour policies.
Wing Hing was first awarded the Chinese lottery concession in 1990. It received authorisation in 2004 to offer betting services via telephone and online platforms. Since 2010, the concession has been renewed on an annual basis.
Wing Hing recorded earnings of MOP301.1m (US$37,5m) in 2024, down just 0.3 per cent year-on-year. Figures from the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) show gross gaming revenue of MOP10m (US$1,2m) in the first three quarters of 2025, almost flat compared to the same period in 2024. Betting volume fell by 9.3 per cent year-on-year to MOP39m (US$4,9m).
