Macau.- Five-star hotel rates in Macau declined in February 2026 amid the rise in visitors during the Chinese New Year holiday. According to data from the Macau Hotel Association, the average nightly rate for five-star hotels fell to MOP1,560 (US$193.5), representing a 2.4 per cent year-on-year decrease.
Average five-star room rates increased slightly from January’s MOP1,522 (US$189), but remained below last year’s levels. Overall occupancy rose to 96.6 per cent, up 1.2 percentage points compared with the same period in 2025.
For the first two months of 2026, the average nightly rate for five-star rooms stood at MOP1,541.3 (US$191), down 2.7 per cent year-on-year, while occupancy averaged 96.2 per cent, up 1 percentage point. Across all hotel categories, the average room rate for January and February declined 2.2 per cent year-on-year to MOP1,388 (US$172).
