Macau.- The Financial Services Bureau has reported that Macau collected MOP94.85bn (US$11.8bn) in gaming taxes in 2025. The figure was up 7.6 per cent year-on-year, and slightly surpassed the government’s 2025 budget plan forecast of MOP93.12bn (US$11.52bn).
Gaming taxes remained the dominant source of government income, accounting for 82.7 per cent of the MOP114.64bn ($14.3bn) in revenue recorded in 2025. Under the 10-year concessions that came into effect on January 1, 2023, casinos pay 40 per cent on GGR.
The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) reported that Macau’s gross gaming revenue (GGR) for 2025 was MOP247.40bn (US$30.9bn), up 9.1 per cent year-on-year. The figure represented 84.6 per cent of the 2019 total of MOP292.46bn (US$36.5 billion) before the Covid-19 pandemic.
For 2026, the Macau governments’ 2026 fiscal budget plan estimates that income from taxes on the gaming sector will reach MOP92.53bn (US$11.52bn).
