Gross gaming revenue reached US$2.57bn.
Macau.- The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) has reported that Macau’s gross gaming revenue (GGR) was MOP20.63bn (US$2.57bn) in February. That’s an increase of 4.5 per cent in year-on-year terms, but 8.9 per cent down from January’s GGR, which stood at MOP22.63bn (US$2.79bn), the highest January total since 2019.
February was expected to see a better performance due to the Chinese New Year holiday. The Public Security Police Force (PSP) reported that 1.55 million visitors entered Macau over the nine-day Chinese New Year break, which started on February 15 and ended on February 23. JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley analysts said Chinese New Year gaming in Macau started slowly.
Cumulatively, Macau’s GGR for the two months of 2026 was MOP43.26bn (US$5.38bn), up 13.9 per cent year-on-year. However, the figure remains 14 per cent below pre-pandemic levels (US$6.26bn).
Macau’s GGR for 2025 was MOP247.40bn (US$30.9bn). That’s a rise of 9.1 per cent year-on-year and surpassed the government forecast of MOP228bn. The figure represented 84.6 per cent of the 2019 total of MOP292.46bn (US$36.5 billion) before the Covid-19 pandemic. Contributing to the performance was strong December GGR, up 14.8 per cent year-on-year to MOP20.89bn (US$2.61bn).
