Macau.- The Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) has reported that the average hotel occupancy rate during the Chinese New Year period reached 95.6 per cent, slightly higher than the 95 per cent reported in 2025. The highest occupancy rate was seen on February 20 at 99.2 per cent.
The Public Security Police Force (PSP) reported that 1.55 million visitors entered Macau over the holiday period from February 15 to February 23. The city received an average of nearly 172,699 visitors per day and saw three consecutive days of more than 200,000 arrivals. Thursday, February 19, saw an all-time record of 227,943 entries. Most tourists entered Macau via the Border Gate checkpoint, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, and the Hengqin checkpoint.
In terms of visitor origin, 76 per cent were from Mainland China (about 1,035,000, a daily average of 129,000), while 253,000 came from Hong Kong (a daily average of nearly 32,000).
