Arrivals reached 40.06 million in 2025, according to the Public Security Police Force.
Macau.- The Public Security Police Force (CPSP) has reported that Macau received a record 40.06 million visitors in 2025, up 14.7 per cent from the 34.93 million entries recorded in 2024 and surpassing the 39.41 million arrivals recorded 2019. The figure was above Macau’s Government Tourism Office (MGTO) forecast of between 38 and 39 million.
According to the Public Security Police Force, travellers from the Chinese mainland accounted for 72.4 per cent of all visitor arrivals, while Hong Kong residents accounted for 18.2 per cent and Taiwan 2.5 per cent.
Macau recorded 235 million entries and exits in 2025, up 9.8 per cent year-on-year. According to the CPSP, in 2025, local residents accounted for 36.4 per cent of border crossings, while visitors accounted for 33.9 per cent, non-resident workers and their family members 26.2 per cent, and non-local students enrolled in Macau 3.2 per cent.
In a separate release, the police said that Macau saw 766,240 visitors from December 31 to January 4 inclusive. The average daily number of visitor arrivals during the period was above 153,200.
The police data may be adjusted by the SAR’s official Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC), which is scheduled to announce full data on 2025 visitor arrivals on January 23.
