The Monetary Authority of Macau has reported that fiscal reserves reached US$82.9bn by the end of November.
Macau.- The Monetary Authority of Macau (AMCM) has reported that the jurisdiction’s fiscal reserves rose by 7.6 per cent in the first 11 months of 2025, reaching MOP663.2bn (US$82.9bn) at the end of November. That reflects an increase of roughly MOP 47bn (US$5.8bn) compared with the same period last year.
The increase underscores strong fiscal performance as Macau continues its economic recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic, particularly supported by the gaming and tourism sectors. Fiscal assets at the end of November were close to the territory’s all-time record.
The reserve comprises both the extraordinary reserve and the basic reserve, the latter calculated at 150 per cent of central government spending. The fiscal reserve’s growth comes amid broader indicators of Macau’s economic recovery. Gaming tax revenue in Macau reached MOP86.74bn (US$10.82bn) in the first 11 months of 2025, up 7 per cent year-on-year.
The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) reported that Macau’s gross gaming revenue (GGR) for 2025 was MOP247.40bn (US$30.9bn). That’s a rise of 9.1 per cent year-on-year and surpasses the government forecast of MOP228bn.
