The expansion targets the premium mass segment.
Macau.- MGM Resorts International is preparing to expand its premium hospitality offering in Macau with the launch of 124 new guest suites at its flagship MGM Cotai property.
Speaking at the JP Morgan Gaming, Lodging, Restaurant & Leisure Management Access Forum in Las Vegas, CEO Bill Hornbuckle said the new suites will begin opening from April after three floors of MGM Cotai were converted into high-end accommodation designed for premium mass players, a segment that has been important in Macau’s post-pandemic recovery.
Macau remains one of the world’s most competitive gaming markets, and Hornbuckle described the battle for market share as a “dog fight” among operators. Despite the intense competition, MGM expects to maintain roughly a 15 per cent share of Macau’s gross gaming revenue, supported by continued investment in both gaming and non-gaming attractions.
The company has already introduced several non-gaming attractions in Macau in recent years, including entertainment, cultural and exhibition venues aimed at supporting the region’s tourism-driven growth model.
Hornbuckle said market performance in early 2026 has remained solid, with strong buy-ins and steady demand.
