Alejandro Tengco was named Best Entertainment Tourism Leader.
The Philippines.- Alejandro H. Tengco, chairman and CEO of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), has been named Best Entertainment Tourism Leader at the 32nd Skål International Makati Tourism Personality Awards. The ceremony was held at the Grand Ballroom of Okada Manila.
Organised by Skål International Makati, the annual event honours individuals and institutions who made significant contributions to advance the Philippine tourism industry. During his acceptance speech, Tengco said the recognition highlighted PAGCOR’s role in strengthening the entertainment and integrated resort sector.
He said: “While many see us primarily as a gaming regulator, we see ourselves as partners in promoting destinations, creating jobs, and strengthening the tourism ecosystem that improves the lives of millions of Filipinos,” he said and noted that responsibly managed integrated resorts help attract domestic and foreign travellers, spur local enterprise, and expand livelihood opportunities in host communities.
