The Philippines.- The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) continues to plan the launch of a 24/7 problem gambling helpline in 2026. Speaking at the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Asia in the Philippines yesterday (December 11), Vina Claudette Oca, assistant vice president of Pagcor’s Gaming Licensing and Development Department confirmed that the plan remains part on track as part of its efforts to promote responsible gaming.
Oca described the helpline as a “milestone” project that will improve customer protection and reinforce public faith in the regulator. The problem gambling helpline will offer counseling, resources, and treatment referrals to support those struggling with gambling addiction. It will also provide guidance on self-exclusion.
Oca also noted PAGCOR’s work with the Ads Standards Council (ASC) to regulate gambling-related ads across various media channels. She said, “We’ve already given instructions to take down gaming-related ads for billboards and out-of-home ads as well. So, these are continuing partnerships with these third-party entities, and we look forward to continuing that next year and strengthening these partnerships as well.”
