South Korea.- Paradise SegaSammy, a subsidiary of South Korea’s foreigner-only casino operator Paradise Co, has announced that the date for its KRW210bn (US$151m) acquisition of the Grand Hyatt Incheon West Tower from KAL Hotel Network Co has been put back from October 31 to December 19, 2025.
The firm said in a filing that the change was made “to reflect some adjustments” on fulfilment of conditions. The deal is intended to strengthen Paradise Co’s position in the integrated resort market. West Tower, located adjacent to the Paradise City casino resort in Incheon, will add 501 rooms to the resort’s existing 769-room inventory, bringing the total to 1,270 rooms without new construction.
Media reports suggest Paradise Co. is exploring a footbridge to connect the West Tower to Paradise City. The company also plans a “Smart Racing Park” with augmented reality features.
Paradise Co operates four casinos: Walkerhill in Seoul, Jeju Grand on Jeju Island, Busan Casino in the southern port city of Busan, and Paradise City, near the main international airport serving Seoul. It plans to begin construction on a new hotel in Seoul with a target opening date in 2028.
