Ten social media personalities could face criminal charges.
The Philippines.- Authorities in the Philippines reportedly intend to file criminal charges against ten social media influencers accused of promoting illegal online gambling platforms. Authorities said the cases stem from a month-long investigation.
The initiative is being led by the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Centre (CICC) in coordination with the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group and the national gaming regulator Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).
Among those named in the investigation is influencer Jam Magno, along with Perkz Gaming, Vic Desucatan, Wampipti, Princess Solomon, Norme Garcia, Cherry White, Girl Tapang Vlogs, Al Moralde and Bemaks TV Fam.
CICC Executive Director Aboy Paraiso said: “The days of warnings are over; it is now time to hold them accountable,” he said during a joint press briefing.
Officials revealed that from January 1 to March 1, 2026, the CICC Action Centre received 1,891 complaints related to influencers promoting illegal online gambling sites. The findings were compiled by the CICC’s Threat Monitoring Centre in partnership with advocacy group Digital Pinoys.
Meanwhile, PAGCOR warned that unlicensed gambling sites often operate as scams, sometimes blocking players from withdrawing winnings. It urged the public to verify whether online gambling platforms are legally licensed by consulting the official PAGCOR website.
