Police say they receive a tip-off.
India.- Police in Ravet, Pune, have arrested three men in Punawale for allegedly running illegal online betting through a banned app. Officers said the suspects were funneling money to handlers’ accounts, which were allegedly opened using forged documents.
Ravet police’s assistant inspector Sandip Deshmukh said a tip-off had prompted the raid on a housing society flat where the suspects had been staying for the past year and a half. Materials valued at Rs 2.86 lakh (US$3,168) were confiscated.
Deshmukh added the investigation is ongoing and that the suspects, who are from three different states, would be formally charged once complete.
