Regional Qualifiers 2024 are officially wrapped up

What a journey it has been! The Regional Qualifiers for the World Esports Championship 2024 have officially wrapped up, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s next. Over the past few months, we’ve experienced some of the most thrilling moments in Esports across all four regions: Africa, Asia & Oceania, Europe, and the Americas, from online competition to the unforgettable offline event in Casablanca, Morocco.

Starting with the online qualifiers, the competition was on the highest level, and new challengers emerged, surprising fans and seasoned athletes alike. It wasn’t just about the familiar faces – new teams and nations showed up big time, proving that Esports is thriving in every corner of the world. We saw some unexpected twists and turns, where favorites fell short, and underdogs claimed victory, capturing the spirit of competition that makes Esports so exciting.

Our online stages set a new benchmark for engagement, breaking records in viewership and participation. Fans from all over tuned in to watch their nations fight for a chance to make it to the World Esports Championship in Riyadh. Of course, we can’t talk about the regionals without shining a light on the offline qualifiers in Morocco. Casablanca played host to a historic moment for African Esports, with athletes competing live for the title of African Champion. The energy in the arena was incredible. It was a privilege to witness such raw talent and dedication. Seeing these athletes go head-to-head in person brought a new level of excitement to the event, and the local crowd was just as intense as the action on stage.

This year’s regional qualifiers showed us the growth of Esports across all regions. For the athletes, the qualifiers are not just ordinary competition, but a chance to proudly represent their country on the international stage, where the stakes are at their highest. After all, a ticket to WEC24 in Riyadh was on the line, and every match felt like it could go either way.

Now, with the regional qualifiers behind us, we’re all shifting our focus to the big stage: Riyadh. This November, the world’s best Esports athletes will converge for the World Esports Championship, and after the excitement of the qualifiers, we can’t wait to see what happens next. If the regionals are any indication, this year’s championship is going to be more competitive than ever.

From here on out, it’s all about preparation. Teams are gearing up, studying their opponents, and strategizing for what will undoubtedly be the biggest event in Esports this year. As we get closer to WEC24, the anticipation only builds.
