Singapore.- Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) has opened The Laurus, a new luxury hotel resort developed with Marriott International. Part of The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts, it replaces the Hard Rock Hotel, which closed in March 2024.
Designed by P49 Deesign, The Laurus spans over 7,650 square meters and draws from colonial and tropical influences. It has 183 suites, a restaurant, a spa, a fitness centre and a pool. At the entrance there is an owl sculpture, which the company says is a subtle nod to local biodiversity and heritage.
Lee Shi Ruh, chief executive officer at RWS, stated: “The Laurus, a Luxury Collection Resort, Singapore’s first The Luxury Collection-branded all-suite hotel, reflects RWS’s ambition to set new benchmarks in luxury hospitality while offering travellers a sanctuary that feels like home. More than a hotel, it is a destination where heritage, nature and contemporary elegance come together, inviting guests to recharge, reconnect and create lasting memories.
“At the same time, The Laurus, a Luxury Collection Resort, embodies our belief that true luxury must also be responsible – thoughtfully designed to delight discerning travellers while honouring our community, culture and environment.”

Bruce Rohr, vice president and global brand leader of The Luxury Collection, added: “The Laurus, a Luxury Collection Resort, marks a defining chapter in our brand’s journey, introducing an extraordinary new destination where heritage, nature, and luxury converge. Marking The Luxury Collection’s first property in Singapore, The Laurus, a Luxury Collection Resort, offers travelers an opportunity to experience the city through a unique lens – one that honours the island’s storied past, celebrates its vibrant landscape, and invites guests into a refined sanctuary that feels deeply personal. The Laurus, a Luxury Collection Resort, exemplifies our commitment to distinctive, destination-led hospitality, where each stay becomes a timeless story in the traveler’s collection.”
RWS’s new lifestyle and retail area Weave opened on July 1. Covering three connected levels and 20,000 square meters, the project doubles the size of the former Forum.
