The Rhode Island Department of Revenue (RIDOR) spokesperson, Paul Grimaldi, has officially confirmed the eagerly awaited launch date. While specific details remain somewhat enigmatic, it’s clear that the Rhode Island Lottery, operating under RIDOR’s umbrella, will oversee and regulate this burgeoning industry.

Bally’s Corporation: Leading the Charge

ReadyNow

Providence-based Bally’s Corporation, a prominent player in the state’s gambling landscape, will take the helm as the exclusive operator of iGaming. This expansion broadens Bally’s existing monopoly, which includes the operation of Rhode Island’s two physical casinos. Since September 2019, the company has also managed the state’s sole online sports betting platform.

The Countdown to March 1st

“We plan on a March 1 launch in some form,” revealed Grimaldi, hinting at more developments to come after the state Lottery Commission’s meeting in the week of January 22. While the name of the new iGaming platform remains undisclosed, excitement builds as Rhode Island’s online casino gaming becomes just a six-week countdown away.

A Staggered Rollout

Although online casino gaming will debut on March 1, live dealer games are expected to follow on April 1, as reported earlier. As for online poker enthusiasts, patience may be required, as their wait could extend even further.

Bally’s Strategic Partnership

Anticipating the forthcoming launch, Bally’s Corporation forged a partnership with supplier Stakelogic in September of the previous year. This collaboration comes in the wake of Rhode Island’s iGaming bill passage on June 22, which mandates the use of live dealers for all online table games.

Through this partnership, Bally’s will leverage Stakelogic’s cutting-edge software and studio technology to introduce Bally’s live casino offering in North America. Players can anticipate a diverse range of popular online live casino games, including Blackjack, Roulette, and Baccarat, available in Rhode Island from April 2024.

Rhode Island’s foray into iGaming is a momentous occasion, and Bally’s Corporation is poised to lead the way, delivering an exciting online casino experience to eager players in the state.
