Macau.- Casino concessionaire SJM Resorts has announced that Casino Kam Pek Paradise, the satellite casino, operated by Paradise Entertainment, will close permanently on December 1. Operators had agreed to close all satellite casinos in Macau by the end of the year under the new concessions that began in January 2023.
As with other closures, SJM Resorts said all gaming tables and machines will be relocated to its other casinos and all local employees will be transferred to other casinos to gaming-related positions. Locals not directly employed by SJM will be invited to apply for relevant roles and will receive support to ease the transition process, the company said.
Customers that with unredeemed chips, deposits, or cash rebates from Casino Kam Pek Paradise can visit any SJM-operated casino from December 2, for follow-up.
All satellite casinos in Macau have now closed or announced closing dates apart from Casino Landmark, which also operates under SJM’s licence. This week, SJM announced the closure of Casino Ponte 16 tomorrow (November 28) and Casino Fortuna on December 10. Of its the nine satellite casinos it had under its licence, only Casino L’Arc will be integrated into SJM’s own operations. It has agreed to acquire L’Arc Hotel, which houses the casino, for HKD1.75bn (US$224.9m).
