SJM Resorts to close Casino Legend Palace next week

All gaming tables and machines from Casino Legend Palace will be redeployed to other SJM Resorts casinos.

Macau.- Casino operator SJM Resorts Ltd has announced that the licensed satellite casino venue, Casino Legend Palace, will cease operations at 11:59 pm on Wednesday, November 12. all gaming tables and machines currently in use will be redeployed to its other casinos. Customers with outstanding chips, deposits or cash rebates can visit other SJM Resorts sites for redemption from November 13.

SJM Resorts confirmed that all direct local employees will be retained and reassigned to other casinos. Local staff not directly employed by the company will be invited to apply for relevant positions within the group “with priority in hiring under equal circumstances.” They will also receive support to help with the transition process.

The shutdown of Casino Legend Palace will leave SJM Resorts with six satellite establishments: Casino Ponte 16, Casino Kam Pek Paradise, Casino Le Royal Arc (L’Arc Macau), Casino Landmark, Casino Fortuna, and Casino Casa Real. The company plans to integrate the gaming operations at Ponte 16 and L’Arc Macau and close the other four casinos by year-end.

Macau Legend Development Ltd noted in a filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that it had agreed to an early termination of its service contract with SJM and will implement measures for an orderly shutdown.
