The new daily service strengthens international connectivity to one of Vietnam’s fastest-growing tourism destinations.

Vietnam.- Sun Phu Quoc Airways (SPA), the resort airline operated by Sun Group, has announced the launch of direct daily flights between Singapore and Phu Quoc. Services are scheduled to commence on July 25, expanding international access to the island destination.

According to data from Phu Quoc International Airport, flight routes connecting Singapore and Phu Quoc recorded nearly 98,000 passengers in 2025. In the first 5 months of 2026, the number of visitors reached nearly 66,000, equivalent to about 68 per cent of the previous year’s total.

The new route was unveiled during a tourism and aviation workshop held in Singapore, where Sun Group introduced the “Phu Quoc – Your Ultimate Escape” campaign. The airline said passengers flying on the route will receive complimentary tickets to the Hon Thom cable car, one of the island’s popular attractions, along with access to promotions across Sun Group’s hospitality and entertainment offerings.

According to the company, the Singapore–Phu Quoc service will operate daily, making Sun Phu Quoc Airways the first full-service carrier to directly connect the two destinations.

“Through developing an international flight network and a distribution partner system in major source markets, Sun Phu Quoc Airways aims to contribute to making Phu Quoc a destination that is increasingly prominent on the regional tourism and aviation map,” the company said. It had previously signed a strategic partnership with Singapore’s Changi Airports International (CAI) to operate and develop Phu Quoc International Airport. CAI, a member of Changi Airport Group, will be involved in design advisory, operational planning, implementation, management and long-term performance optimisation.

Phu Quoc, located off Vietnam’s south-west coast in Kien Giang province, is a key leisure destination and home to the Corona Resort & Casino, one of only two casino complexes in the country currently authorised to admit economically qualified local players, alongside the Grand Ho Tram casino resort. Sun Group’s broader investment strategy includes the development of a new integrated casino resort in the Van Don Economic Zone in Quang Ninh province, where construction commenced in December.
