The Philippines.- Suntrust Resort Holdings has confirmed that it has subscribed to 400m common shares equivalent to a 40 per cent stake in Westside Bayshore Holding Corp (WBHC), a subsidiary of Travellers, under the Alliance Global group. It paid PHP8.00 (US$0.14) per share, amounting to a total consideration of PHP3.20bn (US$56m).
As announced on Monday, that gives it a 20-per cent indirect stake in Entertainment City Resorts Corp. (ECRC), which has taken over the development of the Westside City integrated resort project in Manila’s Entertainment City. Travellers now has majority control.
The arrangement is intended to “expedite the completion” of the Westside, which has faced repeated delays and now has a target opening of the third quarter of 2026.
The company said: “Through this acquisition, Suntrust will effectively hold an indirect interest in ECRC, a subsidiary of WBHC, which assumed all rights and obligations related to the Westside Integrated Resort Project to ensure its timely construction, development, completion and operation.”
