The UAE lottery’s first year made five millionaires and awarded over US$40m in prizes.
United Arab Emirates.- The UAE Lottery is celebrating its first anniversary this month. The first regulated gambling product in the Emirates, it’s already created five millionaires, awarded 233 prizes of AED100,000 (US$27,200) through Lucky Day, Lucky Chance, and Scratch Card games. A AED100m (US$27.2m) Grand Prize was one of the largest lottery payouts in the MENA region to date.
The lottery says more than 100,000 participants have claimed winnings exceeding AED147m (US$40m) so far. Meanwhile, the platform has expanded to include around 20 gaming options, including Pick 3, Pick 4, and Colour Prediction, scratch cards and e-instant games.
“Our first year proved just how exciting and rewarding The UAE Lottery can be, with unforgettable wins and incredible stories from players across the UAE,” said Scott Burton, commercial gaming director at The UAE Lottery. “The trust, enthusiasm, and remarkable moments we’ve witnessed define the experience we’re proud to offer today.”
The UAE Lottery says it plans to launch more games, introduce enhanced digital features and update prize structures to boost engagement and accessibility over the next year. It was recently reported that the operator had launched online gambling products despite a lack of legislation.
