Macau.- The first quarter of 2026 saw Macau hotel occupancy rates reach 94.6 per cent, reflecting sustained demand driven by tourism recovery and mass-market travel flows. That’s a rise from 90.1 per cent in the same quarter of 2025.
Pricing showed some signs of softness, with the average room rate across all categories down by 0.5 per cent year-on-year but the average five-star nightly rate rose by 4.2 per cent year-on-year to MOP1,540 (US$190.9) after a 14-month period of decline. Occupancy in the luxury segment averaged above 95 per cent in the first quarter.
Macau recorded 11.21 million visitor arrivals in Q1 2026, a 13.7 per cent year-on-year increase, with mainland China continuing to account for the majority of inbound travel.
