Sources suggest a potential soft opening could take place as early as May.

Macau.- The long-troubled The 13 Hotel in Seac Pai Van, Coloane, has a new exterior with a gold-coloured façade following an ownership change and multimillion-dollar revamp. It’s been suggested that a potential soft opening could take place as early as May, although there’s been no official announcement.

The refurbishment marks a key milestone in efforts to reposition the ultra-luxury hotel, which was originally to target Macau’s VIP gaming segment but struggled after opening in 2018 without a gaming licence and with incomplete facilities. The venue was sold for HK$600m (US$76.4m), with the new owner committing to investing between HK$200m and HK$300m (US$25m to US$38m) to upgrade of both interior and exterior elements.

The website claims the hotel “blends modern architecture with European Baroque palatial aesthetics, showcasing its noble elegance.” It has 199 independent villa-style suites, ranging in size from 2,000 to 10,000 square feet, equipped with private elevators.
