Macau.- SJM Resorts has hosted a food safety workshop and business matching session in Macau as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and enhance supply chain standards. The event, co-organised with the Macau Union Suppliers Association and supported by multiple government bodies, took place at the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau on April 22 and attracted more than 80 participants representing 55 local SMEs.
The programme included food safety seminars, product showcases and one-on-one business matching sessions. SJM’s food safety team outlined the company’s standards, audit mechanisms and supplier requirements across procurement and receiving processes.
According to Ip Sio Man, president of the Macau Union Suppliers Association, the event aimed to help local SMEs align more closely with the requirements of large-scale resort operators. Monica Ng, SJM’s vice president of Supply Chain (Operations & Services) said the company continues to expand its spending with SME partners.
In the business matching sessions, around one-third of those attending had no prior relationship with SJM.
