The regulator said Winners Bookmaking failed to protect self-excluded customers.

Australia.- The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has issued a warning to Betplay operator Winners Bookmaking for failing to close a wagering account in a reasonable timeframe for a customer who registered with the BetStop national self-exclusion register.

It found that a customer registered on September 5, 2024 but that their betting account remained open for 20 days when it should reasonably have been closed by September 12, 2024. ACMA said that, if the company breaches the rules again, it could face enforcement action, including a financial penalty or Federal Court proceedings.
